American Woman

Here's some pics from my trip to Washington, D.C. last Saturday. I rode the metro for the first time. How am I going to make it in my new home and not at every moment appear a tourist and outsider...I'm not entirely sure because it took all my self control to not shamelessly take a picture of my fascination with this "underground train." I saw where George and Laura live! Clearly, i would have stopped in for tea, but I forgot to ring them ahead of time and let them know I was coming to town. Oh well, next time, eh? I loved the captital. D.C. is absolutely beautiful. This is us in front of the Washington Monument! The only thing missing is my fanny pack and camera strap around my neck. Tourist or not, it was a great trip. I got to have some cuisine from my future home! Hospitality was alive and well in his little International restaurant assuring us that we will be warmly greeted come January. The food was delish...as in delicious! Maybe, I'm going to enjoy eating more than P.B.J.'s after all!

I Am Thankful...

So, this was my first Thanksgiving without family, but good friends turned out to be family that day! Don't I look festive!

Here we are at Thanksgiving Dinner! Its David, me, Jayme, & Jared. How lucky am I? I didn't get to spend the day with my family, but I did get to enjoy my best friend's family and future in-laws! Her mother in-law is the hostess with the most! Thanks Ms. LuAnn!
